Exceptional people. Remarkable ideas. Transformational opportunity.
This is an opportunity to bring your experience to a place woven through the lives of generations of Queenslanders.
To work with exceptional fundraisers and leadership at the start of an exciting new chapter.
To be part of an unusually rich environment and work with the remarkable people taking on some of healthcare’s most difficult challenges — and the donors who want their generosity to count.
To steward generosity and mobilise philanthropic support to make remarkable things happen.
The RBWH Foundation is part of an extraordinary healthcare and research ecosystem — more than 30 health facilities and medical research institutes and more than 13,000 clinicians, researchers, scientists and frontline team members.
Our role is to stand beside these people.
For an ambitious, collaborative philanthropy manager, there’s a role here for you.
RBWH Foundation is looking for a Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager to join our team at a pivotal point in the organisation’s growth.

We’re equally serious about stewardship, evidence and earning the trust placed in us.
If you are an accomplished fundraiser who values clarity, energy and a forward-looking culture where you’ll be personally involved in relationships that matter while helping build the capability around you, this could be your next role.
Ready to use your expertise to give promising research the opportunity to progress, put specialised equipment into the hands of clinical teams and support patient care initiatives that make the experience of care more human?

About the opportunity
In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll personally develop major and principal gift opportunities, build a sustainable corporate partnerships pipeline, lead a small specialist team of experienced fundraisers, and strengthen strategy, forecasting and portfolio discipline.
You’ll benefit from a strong culture of philanthropy and enjoy working with experienced leaders who understand and value your role.
Major gift fundraising is the heart of the role. You will inherit, optimise and grow a portfolio of major donors, prospective principal-gift donors, PAFs, trusts, foundations and other strategic prospects.
You’ll work alongside the Chief Development Officer and CEO on principal and transformational gift opportunities.
You’ll be in the relationships — understanding what motivates donors, making considered asks and stewarding significant generosity with judgement and care.
Corporate partnerships is an emerging opportunity for the Foundation. We’re looking for you to invest in developing a clear corporate partnership proposition and a qualified, long-term pipeline, connecting with aligned organisations and creating evidence-led partnerships with measurable outcomes and mutual health, social and commercial value.
You’ll lead and develop a capable specialist team across major gifts, gifts in wills and multicultural fundraising. You’ll provide clarity, coaching and guidance, creating the conditions for everyone to excel. You will embed consistent portfolio, pipeline, forecasting and stewardship practices.
About you
You are an accomplished fundraiser, major gifts, philanthropy or partnerships leader with a proven track record and connected approach.
You know how to develop trust with sophisticated donors, senior stakeholders and subject matter experts.
You understand that good moves management provides discipline without turning relationships into a process — and you can combine intuition and emotional intelligence with data, commercial judgement and accountability.
We’re looking for you to demonstrate:
- personal success securing significant major or principal gifts or philanthropic investment
- sophisticated relationship management with high-net-worth individuals, PAFs, trusts, foundations and/or senior corporate stakeholders
- confidence discussing significant gifts, making an ask and clearly articulating the value of unrestricted giving, including how funds are directed through the Foundation’s grant program to areas of greatest current need
- credibility with donors, Board members, executives, clinicians and researchers
- disciplined portfolio and pipeline management, including qualification, relationship progression, forecasting and conversion
- the ability to lead and mentor capable specialists
- commercial curiosity and the patience to build a corporate partnership pipeline.
Valuable experience
- healthcare, medical research or another complex, mission-led environment
- corporate partnership development and proposition design
- gifts in wills, multicultural fundraising or working with private ancillary funds
Meaningful work. Valuable relationships. The opportunity to help make remarkable things possible.
