Civil Plant Operators – Excavator, Front End Loader & Skid Steer

Volley Recruit are currently seeking experienced Civil Plant Operators for a range of ongoing opportunities across residential subdivisions, road infrastructure, drainage, earthworks and Tier 1 civil construction projects throughout Adelaide and surrounding areas.

We are specifically looking for operators with proven hands-on experience operating excavators, front end loaders and skid steers within civil construction environments. Applicants must have a demonstrated background working across subdivisions, road infrastructure or major civil projects.

These roles are suited to reliable, multi-skilled operators who can operate machinery productively, work safely around active construction sites and contribute to the wider civil crew when required.

About the Role

You will be working across a range of civil construction projects, supporting earthworks, subdivision development, road construction, drainage and major infrastructure works.

Key responsibilities include:

- Operating excavators, front end loaders and skid steers

- Completing bulk earthworks, excavation and site preparation

- Undertaking trenching and supporting drainage installation

- Loading trucks, moving materials and managing stockpiles

- Supporting road construction, road formation and infrastructure works

- Working safely around underground services, pipes and trenches

- Completing pre-start checks and routine plant inspections

- Following site plans, instructions and project requirements

- Assisting with general civil labouring duties when required

- Maintaining high standards of safety, productivity and workmanship





About You To be successful, you must have:

- Proven plant operating experience across civil subdivisions, road infrastructure or Tier 1 civil construction projects

- Strong hands-on operating experience with excavators, front end loaders and/or skid steers
- A demonstrated understanding of civil construction processes and site operations

- Experience working across earthworks, drainage, roadworks or underground services

- Relevant plant operator tickets and licences
- A strong understanding of WHS requirements and safe work practices
- The ability to work effectively with operators, labourers, supervisors and other trades
- A reliable work ethic, good attendance and a proactive attitude
- The ability to work independently while contributing to the wider construction crew
- A willingness to undertake general civil labouring when required

Important: Proven civil construction operating experience is essential. Experience operating machinery alone is not sufficient without a background in subdivisions, road infrastructure or comparable civil projects.

Additional Tickets & Experience – Highly Desirable

Multi-skilled operators with experience across additional plant will be highly regarded, including:

- Roller

- Watercart

- Haul truck / dump truck

- Compactor

- Grader

- Dozer





Civil Construction Experience Is Essential

These positions are specifically for operators with a proven background in civil construction and infrastructure.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked across:

- Residential subdivisions and land development

- Road construction, upgrades and road formation

- Tier 1 infrastructure projects

- Drainage and stormwater installation

- Bulk earthworks and excavation

- Underground services and utilities

Mining-only operating experience will not be considered suitable. Candidates must demonstrate relevant civil construction experience and an understanding of the requirements of active civil sites.
