An exciting chance for experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters to join a well-known mining contractor on a developing underground gold project in Current Zealand's South Island. Working on a modern fleet of Sandvik underground machinery, you'll join a close-knit maintenance team right at the start of the project with the opportunity to play a key role in bringing a historic mining operation back into production.

- Even-time 2:2 roster - 7 days, 7 nights, 14 days off
- FIFO from major Australian capital cities, with accommodation and meals provided
- Casual rates of $80-$85ph + super, with the opportunity to transition to the contractor after six months
- Join a growing operation with 18-20 brand-new machines and a five-year mining contract

The Company

Join a well-established mining contractor with over 30 years of experience across Australia and internationally. The business has recently secured a major contract to support the redevelopment of a historic NZ gold mine.

- Established contractor specialising in underground hard-rock mining
- Recently awarded a five-year mining contract valued at approximately $406 million
- Scope includes underground development, production, backfill and associated mining services
- Growing team with long-term opportunities across Australian and international operations

The Mine Site

Located on Current Zealand's South Island, this historic gold mine is being brought back into production, with first gold scheduled for December 2026.

- Historic underground gold operation undergoing major redevelopment
- Underground access via a 3.3km twin decline system
- Workforce expected to grow to approximately 280 personnel
- Modern fleet of 18-20 new machines, with surface workshop facilities being expanded and a new mine camp on the way

The Role

Join a close-knit maintenance crew of Heavy Diesel Fitters, Auto Electricians, LV Mechanics and Boilermakers. Working across both the surface workshop and underground, you'll be responsible for maintaining a modern Sandvik fleet.

- Scheduled servicing,



preventative maintenance, diagnostics and mechanical repairs
- Underground breakdowns, hydraulic fault finding and drill servicing
- Maintaining underground drills, cablebolters, loaders and trucks
- Sandvik fleet including DD422i, DS422i, TH551, LH517i, LH307 and LH203

Your Skills & Experience

We're looking for experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters with strong mechanical skills and a hands-on approach to maintenance. Previous underground hard-rock experience will be highly regarded.

- Australian recognised Heavy Diesel / Mobile Plant trade qualification
- Experience maintaining underground hard-rock mining equipment with a good knowledge on Sandvik gear
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and diagnostic skills, ideally with Sandvik machinery
- Safety-focused with the ability to work independently and within a team

Roster, Accommodation & What's On Offer

Enjoy an even-time roster, competitive Australian rates and accommodation, meals and transport provided. Initially join through Marble on a casual contract, with the opportunity to transition to a 12-month fixed-term contract directly with the mining contractor after six months.

- 2:2 roster - 7 days, 7 nights, 14 off, working 12-hour shifts
- $75-$85ph + super through Marble, with fixed-term rates of $70-$80ph + super and paid annual and sick leave
- Flights to Christchurch and shuttle transfers to the accommodation, approximately 4.5 hours from the airport
- Private hotel accommodation, meals and daily site transfers provided, with a new purpose-built camp expected in early to mid-2027
