About the Role
An opportunity is available for a commercially minded Senior Auditor & Analytics professional to join a lean internal audit team. This role offers broad exposure across operational and corporate functions, with a strong emphasis on leveraging data analytics and automation to enhance audit effectiveness.
Moving beyond traditional sample-based testing, you will use data and technology to analyse large datasets, identify anomalies and uncover meaningful insights that help drive business improvements. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, gaining a strong understanding of different business areas and contributing to practical, value-adding audit outcomes.
This is an ideal prospect for someone who combines strong audit fundamentals with analytical capability, commercial judgement and a genuine interest in how businesses operate.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct end-to-end internal audits across a diverse range of operational and corporate functions, including supply chain, production, treasury, tax, accounting and sustainability.
- Apply data analytics and automation to improve audit coverage, analyse large datasets and identify trends, anomalies and control weaknesses.
- Utilise tools such as Alteryx, Power BI and Power Automate, or comparable technologies, to enhance audit processes and generate actionable insights.
- Assess business risks, evaluate the effectiveness of controls and identify opportunities to improve processes and operational outcomes.
- Engage with stakeholders across the business to communicate findings, present recommendations and support the implementation of improvements.
- Adapt to a varied audit portfolio, quickly developing an understanding of unfamiliar business areas and applying a practical, commercially focused approach.
- Contribute to an audit function that has a track record of influencing meaningful business change.
About You
- Experience conducting end-to-end internal audits, ideally across multiple business functions or within a complex organisation.
- Strong data analytics and automation capabilities, with experience applying technology within an audit, risk or assurance environment.
- Proficiency in Alteryx, Power BI, Power Automate or similar tools, with the ability to work confidently with large datasets.
- A commercially minded approach, with the ability to understand business operations, assess risks and identify practical solutions beyond the audit checklist.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking, sound judgement and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Confident stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence positive outcomes.
- CA, CPA or CIA qualifications are advantageous but not essential; practical capability, commercial acumen and technical aptitude are key.
- Mandarin language skills would be advantageous but are not required.
What's on Offer?
- Competitive remuneration: $130,000-$150,000 base salary, plus 13% superannuation and a 15-20% bonus.
- Broad business exposure: Work across a diverse range of operational and corporate functions, developing a strong understanding of the wider organisation.
- Analytics and automation focus: Apply technology to improve audit coverage and uncover insights beyond traditional testing methods.
- Genuine business impact: Contribute to audits that influence business decisions, strengthen controls and deliver tangible improvements.
- Additional benefits: 50% contribution towards medical insurance, income protection and term life insurance, plus payment of professional membership fees.
- Hybrid working: Sydney CBD office with three days per week in the office.
- Career development: Build expertise across internal audit, analytics, automation and enterprise-wide business risks within an evolving organisation.
If you are an analytically minded auditor who enjoys solving problems, understanding how businesses operate and using technology to deliver better outcomes, this is an opportunity to take the next step in your career.
