At Cuboid Ventures, we build technology that solves real-world problems.

We're a Melbourne-based technology venture studio developing AI-powered products, including Qascade and Plott iQ, that help property professionals assess opportunities, make decisions and manage developments.

We're a small, hands-on team that works closely with customers, challenges conventional approaches and embraces emerging AI technologies across discovery, exploration, design and development.

We're looking for someone who can strengthen our ability to engage with customers, understand their challenges, uncover opportunities and turn those insights into thoughtful product solutions.

The role

We're looking for a Product Designer who thinks like a Product Manager, someone who enjoys understanding people, challenging assumptions and turning complex problems into simple, intuitive experiences.

You'll work directly with existing and prospective customers, lead discovery sessions and product pilots, gather feedback and identify opportunities.

You'll collaborate closely with our product and engineering lead to evaluate ideas, agree on priorities and shape what we build next. Then you'll take ownership of the design, from early concepts and user journeys through to development-ready solutions.

This isn't a role where you'll be handed a list of features and asked to design screens.

We want someone curious enough to question the requirements, confident enough to propose better approaches and practical enough to turn ideas into solutions we can test and build.

What you'll do

Discover & understand

- Engage directly with customers and prospects through interviews, workshops, demonstrations and product pilots.
- Understand their workflows, uncover pain points and identify opportunities they may not have articulated.
- Turn feedback and product usage insights into actionable recommendations.

Shape & prioritise

- Work closely with our product lead to evaluate opportunities,



challenge assumptions and shortlist ideas.
- Distinguish genuine customer problems from feature requests.
- Define user journeys, problem statements and proposed solutions.

Design & validate

- Own UX/UI design from exploration through to development-ready solutions.
- Create workflows, wireframes, interactive prototypes and polished interfaces using Figma and AI-assisted tools.
- Improve our existing design system and validate solutions with real users.

Bridge design & development

- Translate approved designs into clear specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Work directly with engineering to explore technical constraints and practical alternatives.
- Review implemented features to ensure they deliver the intended experience.

How we work

We're building an AI-native organisation, not simply adding AI to an existing process.

We embrace emerging AI technologies across the entire product lifecycle, from customer discovery and problem exploration through to design, development and delivery.

We continuously experiment with new tools and workflows to accelerate learning and turn ideas into working products.

You don't need to be a software engineer. But we'd love to see how you use technology to bring your ideas to life, whether through interactive prototypes, AI-generated interfaces or functional proof-of-concepts.

We value initiative, independent thinking and outcomes over unnecessary process. You'll have direct access to the person making product and engineering decisions, without layers of management.

What we're looking for

- Experience in product design, UX/UI or a hybrid product and design role.
- Strong Figma, prototyping, interaction design and design system capabilities.




- Confidence engaging with customers and translating insights into solutions.
- Strategic product thinking combined with hands-on design execution.
- Solid communication skills, curiosity and independent problem-solving.
- A practical understanding of software development and enthusiasm for emerging AI tools.

Experience with B2B SaaS, complex workflows or AI-powered applications is a plus. Property industry experience is helpful, but not essential.

We value demonstrated capability over job titles, qualifications or years of experience.

What success looks like In your first six weeks, you might have:

- Engaged with customers and identified meaningful product improvement opportunities.
- Taken ownership of feedback from a product pilot and developed recommendations.
- Worked with our product lead to shortlist high-value improvements.
- Designed, prototyped and validated an improved experience with real users.
- Handed an approved design to engineering, ready for implementation.

We don't expect you to know everything on day one. We do expect initiative, curiosity and a willingness to learn.
