Why Join QDN?

For more than 20 years, QDN has worked alongside people with disability to build a more inclusive Queensland. We are a human rights-based, member-led organisation representing a vibrant network of more than 3,000 people with disability and supporters across the state. Guided by our motto, “Nothing about us, without us,” we inform, connect, lead and influence change. At QDN, you will be part of a team-oriented, energetic team where people share ideas, celebrate achievements and pitch in to deliver meaningful work. This is a great opportunity to bring your administration skills to a purpose-driven workplace that values inclusion, connection, continuous improvement and a positive team culture.

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Project Officer – Housing to join QDN on a fixed term contract until 30 June 2028. Based in Brisbane, this hands-on role will support QDN’s housing work by engaging with people with disability, families, carers, government, community organisations and sector stakeholders. Working under the direction of the Housing lead, you will help deliver projects, engagement activities, workshops, co-design processes, research and advocacy. You will gather insights from QDN members and stakeholders, identify key themes, support workplans and contribute to high-quality resources, submissions, reports, presentations,

communication materials and policy advice.

This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, collaboration and purpose. You will be part of a broader policy and project team where relationships, curiosity and practical problem-solving are central to success.

About you

You are a confident communicator and natural relationship-builder who can engage respectfully and effectively with people with disability and a wide range of stakeholders. You bring solid analytical, writing and project coordination skills, and you enjoy turning complex information into clear, accessible and engaging content. You will have knowledge of disability, human services, policy or housing issues, and understand the importance of human rights, inclusion and lived experience. Experience in engagement, co-design, research, policy, project delivery or community-based work will help you thrive in this role. Tertiary qualifications, or equivalent relevant experience, in disability, human services, social sciences or a related field are highly desirable.

People with disability, and people with family or other lived connections to disability, are strongly encouraged to apply.

What we offer

QDN offers meaningful work, a welcoming and inclusive team culture, and the opportunity to contribute to projects that matter. The role is classified under the Social,

Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Social and Community Services Employee Level 5.1, with remuneration of $105,577.68 per annum, plus 12% superannuation, 17.5% leave loading and the option to salary sacrifice up to $15,900 to increase your take-home pay. You will join a fun, passionate and purpose-driven workplace where your contribution is valued, your ideas are welcomed and your work can help shape a more inclusive Queensland.
