About the role

Reporting directly to the General Manager of Hospitality, the Publican will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and performance of the Penneshaw Pub throughout an initial six-month contract, with the option to extend. This is a practical, highly visible leadership position with the opportunity to make a genuine difference. You'll work alongside the team, set the standard on the floor and create an environment where employees feel supported, accountable and proud of the experience they deliver.

This role is a 6-month contract awarded at $60, 000 (equivalent to $120,000 p/a), with the prospect to extend for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

- Leading the daily operation of the restaurant, bars, bottleshop and gaming room
- Recruiting, training, developing and motivating a high-performing team
- Creating a positive, respectful and inclusive workplace culture
- Maintaining excellent standards of service, presentation, cleanliness and professionalism
- Managing rosters, labour costs, and stock control
- Supporting revenue growth and the ongoing profitability of the venue
- Ensuring compliance with liquor licensing, gaming, food safety, WHS and company procedures
- Responding to guest feedback and resolving concerns promptly and professionally
- Working collaboratively with kitchen leadership and other departments across Seafront Group




- Supporting group events, promotions and cross-venue initiatives

About you

- Previous experience managing a busy pub, hotel, restaurant or multi-outlet hospitality venue
- Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to build a positive team culture
- Experience working within a multi-departmental hospitality or tourism group
- A hands-on approach and willingness to support the team during busy services
- Strong commercial awareness, including rostering, labour management, stock control and budgeting
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- A calm, professional attitude under pressure
- A strong understanding of compliance and workplace safety
- Current or eligible South Australian RSA, Responsible Person and gaming qualifications
