NECA Education & Careers, in partnership with a Victorian State Government department, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to start their career in Information Technology through a 12-month paid traineeship.

This opportunity is ideal for recent school leavers, career changers, or anyone looking to get their foot in the door of the IT industry. No IT experience? That's okay. We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, outstanding communication skills, and a genuine interest in technology.

We’ll provide the training. You bring the enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and a great attitude.

What Will You Be Doing?

Based in Sunshine, with opportunities to gain exposure across other sites including Footscray, you will work alongside an experienced IT team while learning how to support employees across a large organisation. Your duties will include:

Providing first-level IT support via phone, email, and service desk systems.

Logging, monitoring, and updating support tickets.





Assisting with the setup and configuration of computers, mobile devices and other IT equipment.

Supporting users with password resets, software issues and general technical enquiries.

Learning from experienced IT professionals and escalating complex issues when required.

Providing administrative support to help ensure the smooth operation of the IT team.

We're looking for someone who:

Has a genuine interest in technology and computers.

Strong customer service and communication skills, developed through retail, hospitality, or other customer‑facing environments, with the confidence to communicate effectively face‑to‑face, over the phone, and via email.

Has a positive attitude and is eager to learn.

Is reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.

Can successfully complete a National Police Check, reference checks, and required immunisation documentation.
