Receptionist (Temporary Assignment)Your new company

We are currently seeking a professional and resilient Receptionist to join a busy public-facing organisation based in Hobart CBD. This temporary opportunity is available for an initial four-week period, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate. As the first point of contact, you will play a critical role in providing a positive and professional experience for visitors, callers and stakeholders.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you will manage front-of-house operations, respond to enquiries, direct visitors, and provide general administrative support while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times. This role requires someone who can remain calm under pressure and confidently manage a wide range of interactions. You may engage with members of the public who are experiencing challenging circumstances, so empathy, sound judgement and emotional resilience are essential.

Your new role

- Provide skilled front desk and reception services
- Welcome visitors and respond to face-to-face, phone and email enquiries
- Manage appointment bookings and general administrative tasks
- Maintain accurate records and documentation




- Handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Support internal teams with day-to-day administrative activities

What you'll need to succeed

- Previous reception, customer service or front-of-house experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- High levels of empathy, resilience and emotional maturity
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence working in a sensitive or high-pressure environment
