About the Role
EVERLAST ENERGY SOLUTION PTY LTD aka The Continental Building and Construction Group is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Landscape Architect to develop landscape designs that complement our building projects.
You will work closely with clients, the construction team and external consultants to plan functional and visually appealing outdoor spaces, taking projects from initial site assessment and concept design through to detailed documentation and construction support.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Consult with clients, architects, engineers and the construction team to establish landscape design briefs, intended uses of external spaces, project scope, budgets and construction requirements.
- Undertake site investigations and analyse landform, soils, vegetation, ecology, hydrology, visual characteristics, access and existing structures, together with relevant planning controls, community needs, cultural values and, where applicable, Indigenous landscape practices, to identify site opportunities and constraints.
- Carry out landscape feasibility studies and assess the potential effects of proposed developments on ecology, landscape character, cultural values and community health and wellbeing, preparing recommendations and contributing to environmental impact documentation where required.
- Develop landscape concepts, master plans and detailed designs that integrate buildings and outdoor spaces, including proposed ground levels, landscape structures, paving, circulation and access, while balancing functionality, visual quality, site conditions and project budgets.
- Research and incorporate sustainable landscape design strategies, including green infrastructure, water-sensitive design, habitat protection, resource-efficient materials and approaches that support long-term environmental performance.
- Prepare planting plans and schedules specifying plant species, quantities, sizes and locations, together with soil preparation, establishment and maintenance requirements suited to local climate, site conditions and biodiversity objectives.
- Produce landscape site plans, working drawings, construction details and digital models using relevant design technologies, and coordinate documentation with architectural, civil, structural and services consultants to resolve grading, drainage, irrigation, utilities and other design interfaces.
- Prepare technical specifications, material schedules, quantity take-offs and cost estimates, evaluating alternative materials and design solutions to achieve the required quality within the available budget.
- Prepare landscape reports and supporting documentation for planning and development applications, liaise with councils and relevant authorities, and address approval conditions and requests for further information.
- Prepare visualisations and presentations to communicate landscape proposals,
participate in consultation with clients, local communities and other stakeholders where required, and document and incorporate agreed feedback into the designs.
- Prepare landscape tender and contract documentation, assist clients with inviting and evaluating tenders, and review contractor submissions, samples and proposed substitutions for consistency with the design requirements.
- Inspect landscape construction works for compliance with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards, provide advice on site issues and variations, coordinate defect rectification, and prepare updated documentation and recommendations for landscape establishment and ongoing management.
About You
- A Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Landscape Architecture.
- At least 1-year relevant experience in landscape design and documentation, with a portfolio demonstrating your design and technical skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant landscape design, modelling and presentation software.
- Sound knowledge of planting design, landscape materials, construction detailing and sustainable design principles.
- Understanding of relevant planning requirements, accessibility standards and landscape construction practices.
- Robust communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, consultants and construction teams.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing project deadlines.
- A valid driver's licence and willingness to attend project sites.
