About Us

Water Margin Chinese Restaurant is an established Chinese restaurant located in the heart of Victoria Park, Perth. We specialise in authentic Sichuan and Chongqing-style cuisine, offering a diverse selection of traditional Chinese dishes to our dine-in and takeaway customers.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to oversee our daily operations, lead our restaurant team and maintain high standards of food quality, customer service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, organise and oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring efficient coordination between front-of-house and kitchen teams.
- Recruit, train, supervise and manage restaurant staff, including preparing work rosters, allocating duties and monitoring staff performance.
- Work closely with chefs to review menus, coordinate seasonal offerings and maintain consistency in food quality, presentation and customer expectations.
- Oversee purchasing, supplier relationships, stock control and inventory management, ensuring supplies are maintained within operational budgets.
- Monitor restaurant operating costs, labour expenses, sales performance and financial transactions to support profitability and efficient resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety regulations, and maintain a clean, safe and welcoming dining environment.
- Manage reservations, dining arrangements and customer service operations, particularly during busy lunch and dinner periods.
- Handle customer enquiries,



feedback and complaints professionally, implementing improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Plan and coordinate group bookings, special dining events and other restaurant functions as required.
- Develop and implement operational procedures to improve service efficiency, staff productivity and the overall customer dining experience.

Skills and Experience Required

·A Diploma or higher qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field.

·Relevant work experience in restaurant operations or hospitality management.

·Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including front-of-house service and coordination with kitchen staff.

·Good organisational, communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.

·Ability to work effectively in a busy restaurant environment and maintain high standards of customer service.

·Experience working in a Chinese or Asian restaurant or a similar dining environment is highly regarded.

·Ability to communicate in Mandarin Chinese would be an advantage but is not essential.
