The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead one of our Tasmania operations.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the site, overseeing both warehouse and transport operations. This includes managing inventory accuracy, customer relationships, operational performance, labour planning, financial outcomes and the management and forecasting of national subcontractor requirements.

You will lead a team of operational leaders and frontline employees, ensuring a safe, productive and customer-focused operation while identifying opportunities to improve service, efficiency and profitability.

This is a 2-year max-term contract offering the opportunity to make a significant impact within a well-established operation backed by the global strength of DHL Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities





- Lead and promote a strong safety and compliance culture across warehouse and transport operations.
- Manage day-to-day site operations to achieve service, productivity and financial targets.
- Oversee warehouse, inventory and transport activities to ensure efficient customer outcomes.
- Forecast, plan and manage national subcontractor requirements to support operational demand.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse, transport and distribution functions.
- Manage labour planning, workforce utilisation and operational costs.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and compliance through effective controls and auditing processes.
- Monitor and improve operational KPIs, service levels and customer performance metrics.
- Lead, coach and develop supervisors and operational teams.
- Manage customer business plans, ensuring revenue, profit and service expectations are achieved.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive operational success.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Experience leading warehouse and transport operations within a logistics,



distribution or 3PL environment.
- Strong leadership experience managing supervisors and frontline operational teams.
- Proven experience managing customer relationships and service delivery.
- Strong understanding of transport operations, subcontractor management and distribution networks.
- Experience in labour planning, cost management and operational performance improvement.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and financial outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of an organisation.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems, ideally SAP or Manhattan.
- A proactive approach to problem solving, continuous improvement and people leadership.
