DFP Recruitment is seeking an EL1 DevOps Engineer to join a Federal Government client.

The DevOps Engineer will work closely with key business stakeholders, CRM developers and testing teams to enable and support Salesforce and MuleSoft development across the Agency. The role will also manage critical internal and external stakeholder relationships, representing and negotiating on behalf of our client to support delivery outcomes and advance Agency objectives across a range of forums.

Key responsibilities

- Design, development, deployment, and support of the Agency’s Cloud & Data Infrastructure.
- Prioritising and managing the work queue to ensure timely delivery of key initiatives.
- Ensuring that all solutions adhere to integration best practices and are well documented.
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
- Playing a key leadership role in project teams, utilising an agile development framework.
- Engaging with stakeholders to define project requirements, set priorities, and deliver results.

Essential criteria

- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and services, with proven ability to design, implement, and manage scalable cloud solutions.
- Strong experience in building and deploying DevOps practices, tools, and continuous delivery pipelines, including GitLab, Artifactory, and Jira, to streamline development workflows.




- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform for automating infrastructure provisioning and management
- Proficiency with version control systems like Git, combined with a solid understanding of agile development methodologies to support team-oriented, iterative development.
- Ability to write and maintain moderately complex code across multiple programming languages, including Python, JavaScript, and Golang.
- In-depth experience with containerization, cluster deployment, and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring efficient application delivery and management.

Desirable criteria

- Demonstrated experience working with Salesforce, MuleSoft and/or AWS environments, including Kubernetes-based platforms.
- Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault for securing sensitive data and managing secrets across cloud infrastructure.
- Designing and managing intelligent CI/CD automation where AI agents execute discrete, permission-constrained tasks (e.g., auto-remediation, documentation, or testing).
- Demonstrated experience performing or leading GitLab to GitHub migrations within a complex SDLC environment supporting Salesforce, MuleSoft or comparable enterprise technologies.
