At Spiire, our purpose is to better our communities, create opportunities for our people and clients, and deliver value to our stakeholders.
We bring together civil and water engineers, landscape architects, construction consultants, surveyors, town planners and urban designers to support the property and infrastructure sectors.
With over 430 employees, we’re one of Australia’s largest employee-owned property and infrastructure consultancies, bringing over 40 years of experience and local expertise to projects across Melbourne, Bendigo, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Geelong, Ballarat, Shepparton, Gippsland, Albury and Wodonga, and Townsville.
Hello – Kia Ora – 你好 – Wominjeka – Yaama.
No matter how you say it, we’re glad you’re here!
Take the next step in land development
With a growing pipeline of work, our Gippsland team is looking for a Project Manager to help deliver land development projects and build strong relationships with our clients.
You might already be managing projects, or you could be a civil engineer or designer with land development experience who’s ready to take on broader responsibility. You’ll have the support of experienced colleagues as you develop your project management skills, take ownership of delivery and grow your confidence working with clients.
This is an opportunity to build on your technical experience, work on great local projects and make a visible contribution to the team.
This role will see you:
- Manage land development projects through planning, design, approvals and construction, with support from experienced project managers and technical specialists.
- Build strong relationships with clients and development partners, keeping them informed and responding to their needs.
- Coordinate civil designers, engineers and other internal and external consultants to keep projects moving.
- Work closely with design leads to plan work, monitor progress and identify when technical input is needed.
- Coordinate approval submissions and liaise with councils, servicing authorities and other stakeholders.
- Support tender and contract documentation alongside our technical specialists and construction consultants.
- Monitor project programs, budgets, fees and variations, identifying risks and seeking support early.
- Contribute to a collaborative Gippsland team by sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
About you
You bring experience in land development, ideally greenfield subdivisions and associated civil infrastructure, and an interest in taking greater ownership of projects and client relationships.
You don’t need to have held a Project Manager title. You may have built your experience in civil engineering or design and be ready to move into project management. An understanding of how land development projects come together, combined with strong communication and relationship skills, will provide a solid foundation.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in civil design, engineering or project delivery within land development.
- An understanding of the design and approvals process and how it connects to construction.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen, adapt your communication and build trust with clients and colleagues.
- A collaborative, self-aware approach, with openness to feedback and respect for different perspectives.
- The ability to organise work, coordinate inputs and follow through on commitments.
- A practical approach to problem-solving and the judgement to know when to seek advice.
- An interest in developing your commercial skills across project scope, fees, budgets and variations.
Previous project management experience will be valued, but we’re equally interested in someone with relevant technical experience and the potential to grow into the role.
Build your project management career in Gippsland
Join a team with a strong pipeline of work and experienced people around you to support your next step.
You’ll gain exposure across the project lifecycle, develop direct client relationships and see the impact of your contribution. As your confidence and experience grow, you’ll have opportunities to take on greater responsibility, supported by the technical expertise of Spiire’s broader network.
For someone ready to build on their land development experience, this is an chance to develop, be recognised and shape a career in project management.
