SSS Service Pty Ltd, trading as GWT Automotive Bayswater, is seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic to join our automotive workshop in Bayswater, Victoria. The successful applicant will undertake vehicle servicing, diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs to ensure vehicles operate safely and reliably.

Key responsibilities

- Inspect vehicles and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
- Perform scheduled servicing, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement and engine tune-ups.
- Diagnose, repair and replace defective components in engines, transmissions, braking, steering, suspension and cooling systems.
- Dismantle and reassemble mechanical assemblies, ensuring components meet manufacturer specifications.
- Test and adjust repaired systems and conduct road tests to verify repairs and vehicle performance.




- Identify worn or damaged parts and advise on necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate job cards and records of inspections, repairs, labour and parts used.
- Use workshop tools and equipment safely and maintain a clean, organised work workplace.
- Follow manufacturer procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.

Skills and experience

- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or an equivalent relevant automotive qualification.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in automotive servicing and repairs.
- Sound knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems and modern diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to identify faults and complete repairs accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and manufacturer specifications.
