TRANSPORT DRIVER – Hamilton Island / Transport Team

Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced and personable Transport Driver to join our Transport team on a full-time, permanent basis. As one of the first friendly faces our guests meet, you'll play an important role in creating memorable first impressions while safely transporting guests around one of Australia's most iconic island destinations. From airport arrivals to resort transfers and island adventures, you'll help guests discover the beauty of Hamilton Island while delivering exceptional customer service.

Your Role

As a Transport Driver, you'll provide safe, reliable and friendly transport services for guests, residents and staff across Hamilton Island. From scheduled shuttle services and airport transfers to after-hours taxi operations, you'll ensure every passenger enjoys a comfortable journey while sharing your knowledge of the island and its attractions.

Where you’ll make an impact

- Safely transport guests between the airport, accommodation and island attractions

- Operate scheduled island shuttle services and after-hours taxi operations

- Welcome guests and provide engaging commentary about Hamilton Island

- Assist passengers with boarding, disembarking and luggage handling

- Deliver friendly and professional customer service throughout each journey

- Maintain vehicles in a clean, safe and roadworthy condition

- Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report maintenance issues promptly





- Respond to guest enquiries and provide information about island facilities

- Follow transport schedules and operational procedures efficiently

- Maintain compliance with road safety regulations and HIE policies

- Work collaboratively with the Transport team to ensure reliable guest services

You are a confident and safety-conscious driver who enjoys meeting people and creating positive guest experiences. You take pride in providing reliable transport services, have excellent communication skills and enjoy sharing your knowledge with visitors. With a friendly attitude and professional approach, you'll help make every journey around Hamilton Island a memorable one.

To be successful, you will need:

- Minimum QLD Medium Rigid (MR) Driver Licence (Essential)

- QLD Industry Authority or eligibility to obtain one (Essential)

- Clean driving record and strong commitment to road safety

- Previous bus driving experience

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong customer service focus and professional presentation

- Ability to operate safely in a busy resort environment

- Confidence providing commentary and engaging with passengers

- Flexibility to work rotating rosters, including evenings and weekends

- Previous tourism, resort or tour guiding experience (Highly regarded)
