Osborne Richardson are proud to be partnering with North Burnett Regional Council once again, this time to find a Community Development Officer to join their Customer Experience and Communities team, based in Gayndah.

This is a fantastic, people-first role, right at the heart of the community. You'll be out and about engaging with local groups and organisations, helping them chase down and manage grant funding, pulling together community events and generally spreading plenty of positive vibes right across the North Burnett. It's a 3-month contract with potential to extend, with accommodation covered (generally motel-style) and travel at the start and end of the contract included.

What you'll be doing

- Engaging with community groups, organisations and businesses to support grant applications, and managing grants through to delivery, budgets and acquittals
- Delivering Council's Community Grants Program and the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF)
- Planning, promoting and delivering community events, arts and culture activities and citizenship ceremonies
- Supporting community-led initiatives through capacity building, advice and resource coordination
- Assisting with community leasing matters (a small part of the role)

- Building robust relationships with community leaders, NGOs and State and Federal agencies
- Delivering community consultation and engagement, and preparing plans and reports

What you'll need

1. At least 3 years' experience in community development, engagement or a similar role
2. Solid experience with grant applications, grant program administration and acquittals, ideally in local government
3. Proven event and project management skills, including budgets and procurement
4. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with a positive, can-do approach
5. Willingness to work outside business hours and across all North Burnett communities for events
6. Unrestricted C class driver's licence and a Positive Notice Blue Card
7. Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience, plus an IAP2 Certificate of Engagement (or willingness to obtain)

What's on offer: Up to $55 per hour + super, a standard 38-hour week, accommodation covered and travel at the start and end of the contract included, in a friendly regional council that genuinely values its community.
