The Heritage Advisor provides technical advice to
support the effective management of historic and
Aboriginal cultural heritage. Through the
coordination and implementation of heritage
projects, compliance activities and targeted
initiatives, the role contributes to informed
decision-making, legislative compliance and the
protection of heritage values in an operational
context.
Strategy Execution (customer, community and
stakeholders)




• Deliver activities that support Hydro
Tasmania’s Cultural Heritage Program and
associated strategic initiatives.
• Support the integration of heritage into longterm
asset management planning.
• Provide heritage advice to internal project
teams to inform project planning and delivery.
• Contribute to corporate communications,
engagement and visitor experience initiatives
to embed heritage and history across
strategies and activities.
Leadership and Organisation
• Work collaboratively to support delivery of
business priorities and develop effective
cross-organisational relationships.
• Support capability building across the
business through heritage advice, guidance,
and input to projects and teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and
knowledge sharing within the cultural heritage
function and related business areas.
Financial (budget expenditure, revenue,
profit targets, etc)
• Manage heritage-related projects, consultants
and contractors within agreed budgets and
timeframes.
• Coordinate efficient delivery of heritage
activities through effective planning and
procurement.
• Contribute to financial governance by
identifying project budget risks and
recommending efficiencies.
Technical
Provide heritage expertise to support operational
activities, projects and strategic decision-making,
including but not exclusive to the following:
• Develop and implement heritage
interpretation plans and initiatives
• Develop strategies to assess and manage
cultural heritage collections
• Undertake heritage research to support
business priorities
• Undertake or review heritage assessments,
management plans, technical reports and
approval documentation for the management
of historic and/or Aboriginal cultural heritage

• Support compliance with relevant heritage
