KS Virk Enterprise, trading as Fig & Olive and Fork & Wafle, is seeking one qualified Chef and one qualified Cook to join our kitchen team. We are looking for enthusiastic professionals with a passion for preparing high-quality food and delivering a memorable dining experience.

Chef Responsibilities

- Plan and develop menus, estimate food and labour costs, and order food supplies.
- Monitor the quality of dishes throughout preparation, cooking and presentation.
- Discuss food preparation requirements and resolve kitchen issues with management and kitchen and service staff.
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and guide kitchen staff on cooking procedures.
- Prepare and cook meals to a consistently high standard.
- Explain and enforce food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Assist with selecting and training kitchen staff as required.
- Ensure food is stored, frozen and preserved correctly.

Cook Responsibilities

- Prepare and assemble ingredients for menu items.
- Cook meals according to recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure consistent portion sizes and attractive food presentation.




- Store food at appropriate temperatures to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
- Monitor stock levels and report ordering requirements.
- Keep cooking utensils, equipment and food preparation areas clean and sanitised.
- Work with the kitchen team to complete orders efficiently.
- Address food preparation issues and accommodate order requirements.
- Follow food safety and hygiene procedures.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

- Relevant Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent qualification appropriate to the position.
- At least one year of experience in a similar role.
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- A passion for preparing fresh, high-quality food.
- Robust communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a busy kitchen.
- Leadership and staff supervision skills for the Chef position.
