About the Business

Rockman Australia is an importer, distributor and wholesaler of Asian food and beverage products, supplying grocery stores and supermarkets across Australia. Our range includes beverages, snacks, noodles, sauces, pantry staples and frozen foods.

We are seeking a Developer Programmer to develop and maintain a new app for our wholesale business, improving how customers access product information and place orders.

About the Role

You will translate business requirements into working software and support the app from development through deployment and ongoing improvement. Proposed features include product browsing, customer accounts, ordering and order tracking. Your duties will include:

·Analyse customer ordering workflows and business requirements with sales, warehouse and management teams, and prepare functional and technical specifications.

·Design application components, data models and program logic to support product catalogues, customer accounts, pricing and order processing.

·Write, maintain and improve application code using suitable programming languages and frameworks, following agreed specifications and coding standards.

·Develop user interfaces for product search, account access, shopping carts and order tracking, with attention to usability, accessibility and device compatibility.

·Build backend services and APIs to connect the app with relevant product, inventory, pricing and order management systems.

·Develop and maintain databases, validation rules and data synchronisation processes to keep customer,



product and order information accurate.

·Test and debug application code, identify the causes of defects, and correct errors to ensure reliable operation and acceptable performance.

·Implement secure authentication, user permissions and data protection controls, and address vulnerabilities identified during testing and review.

·Prepare technical documentation, maintain source code and version history, and support deployment, release management and user acceptance testing.

·Monitor app performance after release, troubleshoot software issues and implement enhancements as business needs and customer feedback evolve.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

·A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

·Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining mobile or web applications, including frontend interfaces and backend services.

·Proficiency in relevant programming languages and application frameworks, with the ability to select suitable tools for the project.

·Experience with APIs, relational databases, version control, software testing and debugging.

·Knowledge of secure coding, authentication, data protection and application deployment; experience with wholesale ordering or e-commerce systems is desirable.

·Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical requirements and work collaboratively with business stakeholders.
