Mine & Tunnel Ventilation Pty Ltd (MTV) is seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our team in Welshpool. This role is essential in increasing our capacity to fabricate and refurbish recent and used ventilation fans and accessories for the mining and tunnelling industries across Australia.
This is a full-time, permanent position based exclusively at our Welshpool facility. (Please note: This is NOT a FIFO or mine-site position).
The Position:
- Hours: 38 hours per week + overtime.
- Probation: This role includes a 3-month probationary period.
- Primary Duties:
- Fabricate, assemble, and weld metal components for industrial projects.
- Interpret technical engineering drawings, including fabrication drawings.
- Perform welding tasks using various techniques (MIG, TIG, and Stick) in accordance with ASNZ 1554 SP.
- Work comfortably with a variety of materials (Mild Steel, Stainless, etc.) ranging from 1mm to 20mm.
- Confidently and safely operate workshop tools and machinery (grinders, drills, punch, saw, etc.).
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair damaged or faulty metal structures.
Requirements:
- Work Rights: Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident. (We are unable to provide sponsorship or accept working visas).
- Certification:
Cert III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade - Tradesperson.
- Licensing: Must hold a valid Australian Driver’s License. (Forklift license is highly encouraged).
- Compliance: A successful candidate must pass a mandatory Police Clearance and pre-employment medical check.
- Testing: Candidates will be required to complete two in-house weld tests: a 2F Fillet and a 1G Butt.
