We're seeking a Data Engineer with solid, hands-on AWS experience to join a growing Perth technology organisation. You'll design, build and maintain production-ready data pipelines using Python, SQL and AWS services, supporting machine learning and enterprise reporting. This role requires someone confident engineering within AWS environments, not simply integrating with AWS services. What We're Looking For

Strong, hands-on AWS engineering experience is essential for this position. We're looking for someone who has actively designed, developed, deployed and maintained production data solutions within AWS environments.

- AWS: Demonstrated practical experience engineering within AWS, ideally including Lambda, ECS/EC2 and infrastructure as code using Terraform.

- Python & SQL: Strong programming skills, with experience developing reliable data pipelines and complex transformations.

- Data Engineering: Proven experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes.

- CI/CD: Experience integrating code and data pipelines into automated deployment workflows,



ideally using GitHub Actions.

- Data Quality: Strong understanding of testing, validation, monitoring, logging and error handling.

- Governance: Experience handling sensitive data and working within regulated environments.

- Collaboration: Ability to work closely with software engineers, DevOps, data scientists and other stakeholders.

- Approximately 3-5 years' relevant experience and a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.

Experience with broader software engineering or machine learning data pipelines would be advantageous.

Significant

Must hold PR or Australian Citizenship. This is a hands-on AWS engineering role. Candidates should be comfortable explaining the AWS architecture and services they have personally worked with in production, including their involvement in development, deployment and ongoing support, AWS environment is a must have.
