If you know what great maintenance looks like. You know how to get the best out of your people. And you know that equipment performance doesn’t happen by accident. WE WANT YOU AT CAREY!
At Carey, we’re looking for a Mobile Maintenance Supervisor who is at the top of their game, someone who leads from the front, coaches for impact and understands that great maintenance is about more than fixing machines. It’s about delivering availability, reliability and performance.
We want a hands-on leader who knows how to turn maintenance plans into results, breakdowns into learning opportunities and a team of mechanics into a high-performing crew.
What we want from you:
- Drive performance: You understand the numbers that matter — equipment availability, reliability, utilisation and maintenance performance. You use data to identify gaps, focus your team’s efforts and deliver measurable results.
- Coach for impact: You set clear expectations, develop your people and hold them accountable. You’re present in the field, lead by example and know how to have the conversations that improve performance. You build capability, not dependency.
- You know how to triage breakdowns: When equipment goes down, you bring structure and urgency. You assess the problem, prioritise the work, coordinate resources and drive the fastest safe turnaround. You know the difference between being busy and getting equipment back into service.
- Prioritise defects to maximise equipment availability: You understand how to assess risk, criticality and operational impact to prioritise corrective maintenance. You drive planned corrective maintenance compliance, minimise repeat failures and make sure defects don’t sit in the system until they become tomorrow’s breakdowns.
- Understand the real purpose of servicing:
A service isn’t just an oil change and a tick on a checklist. It’s an opportunity to inspect, identify emerging defects and prevent failures before they happen. You expect quality inspections, good defect reporting and corrective actions that address issues before they affect production.
- Deliver schedule compliance: You understand that the maintenance schedule is a commitment to the operation. You plan the work, ensure labour, parts and equipment are ready, manage competing priorities and drive execution of the agreed schedule. You know that consistently achieving schedule compliance is fundamental to reliable equipment.
- Get the fundamentals right: You value quality servicing, effective corrective maintenance, accurate work orders, sound job planning, good handovers and disciplined maintenance practices. You understand that reliability is built through consistent execution — every shift, every day.
Is this you?
You’re an experienced mobile maintenance leader who understands the realities of a busy maintenance operation. You’re commercially aware, operationally focused and technically credible. You can walk into a workshop or field maintenance environment, understand what’s happening, identify what needs attention and get the team moving in the right direction.
- You don’t wait for someone else to drive performance. You own it.
- You don’t just report problems. You solve them.
- And you don’t just supervise maintenance. You lead a team that delivers it.
What does success look like?
- A team that knows what is expected and takes ownership of its performance.
- Equipment that is available, reliable and ready when the operation needs it.
- Breakdowns that are triaged effectively and resolved safely, without unnecessary delays.
- Defects that are identified early, prioritised intelligently and cleared through planned corrective work.
- Servicing and maintenance schedules that are consistently achieved.
- Fewer repeat failures, less reactive maintenance and better use of maintenance resources.
- A culture of accountability, continuous improvement and pride in doing the job right.
What's in It for You?
- Ongoing Employment: Permanent full time employment
- Professional Development: Training provided for employees to build qualifications, develop and diversify your skills across different commodity projects (Gold, Rare Earth, Iron Ore, Mineral Sands)
- Excellent Pay Rates: A remuneration package that reflects your skills and experience
Come and make a difference at Carey!
If you’re a maintenance supervisor who takes pride in developing people, driving equipment performance and delivering maintenance outcomes that make a real difference to the operation, we want to hear from you.
- Bring your experience. Bring your standards. Bring your drive.
