About the Role

I am partnering with an established Australian construction and engineering business to find a Graduate Accountant. With over 2,000 employees nationwide, the business offers an opportunity to build your accounting career within a substantial national organisation.

You will gain practical experience across month-end reporting, financial accounts, budgeting and tax, with training and mentoring from an experienced finance team. As an Approved Training Employer, the business provides full CA study support to help you develop your technical knowledge and progress towards qualification.

Alongside your accounting responsibilities, you will help improve how financial information is processed and reported, exploring opportunities to use automation, artificial intelligence and other finance technology.

The role would suit a recent accounting graduate or final-year student who is curious, proactive and confident with technology, with a willingness to learn and put their knowledge into practice.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with monthly financial results, including journals and variance analysis.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with financial reporting across group entities.
- Support budget preparation, forecasting and cash flow reporting.




- Prepare supporting information for tax lodgements.
- Maintain fixed asset records and assist with related reporting.
- Prepare schedules and documentation for the annual audit.
- Help improve finance processes and reporting through better use of systems and technology.

Skills & Experience

- Commerce, Business or Finance degree with an Accounting major, recently completed or in its final year.
- Currently undertaking CA studies or intending to commence.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles.
- Confidence using Excel to organise and analyse information.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage priorities and complete tasks.
- Explicit communication skills and a willingness to ask questions.
- Interest in technology that improves accounting and reporting.
- Willingness to learn and work collaboratively.
