CKG Search has been instructed by an ASX-listed construction group with an outstanding reputation for culture and award-winning projects.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the General Counsel within a collaborative legal team, you will advise on construction and general legal matters across the full project lifecycle. You will be embedded with commercial and project teams, helping them win work on the right terms, protect their entitlements and manage risk with confidence.

On Offer

- Generous remuneration package plus annual STIP, aligned to personal and company performance

- Additional paid leave days each year, an individual flexibility plan and personalised parental leave

- Variety across commercial, defence, education, health, retail and hospitality projects nationally

- Close exposure to senior commercial leadership through the approvals process

- A recognised, award-winning culture with a solid promote-from-within philosophy

While the role is offered on a full-time, hybrid basis, our client is open to discussing flexible working arrangements and reasonable adjustments to support your success.

Responsibilities

- Prepare legal risk assessments for tender and contract approval memos

- Draft and negotiate head contract amendments, subcontracts and supplier special conditions

- Advise project teams on claims, notices, time bars and Security of Payment matters

- Manage supply chain insolvency issues and insurance claims

- Manage external law firm relationships and NDAs

- Develop contract administration training and improve legal systems and processes

Requirements

- Law degree and an Australian Practising Certificate (or eligibility)

- 4+ years’ PQE with experience in construction law, ideally contractor-side

- Thorough, current knowledge of Security of Payment legislation and contract administration

- Confident advising operational and senior stakeholders in a fast-moving environment

- Pragmatic and relationship-led, and able to work autonomously and collaboratively

If you’re unsure whether your experience meets these requirements, but believe you offer relevant, comparable or transferable experience, please reach out to explore your suitability.

This role suits a commercially minded construction lawyer ready to sit at the centre of project decisions rather than advising from the outside.

Step into a business that is building fast, and build your in-house career with it.
