Working at AIMWA

The Australian Institute of Management WA (AIMWA) is a not-for-profit, membership-based organisation dedicated to inspiring better workplaces by delivering high-quality learning experiences, celebrating and recognising excellence, and by influencing conversations that matter.

Our vision is to be a contemporary education leader shaping management, leadership, and workplace excellence, for the benefit of Australia and our neighbours.

About the role:

As RTO Manager, you will oversee AIMWA’s registered training operations, supporting quality assessment, regulatory compliance and a positive participant experience. Reporting to the Company Secretary, you will lead our small Qualifications Team and pool of external assessors, coordinating day-to-day activities and ensuring our qualifications and assessment services meet required standards.

This is a hands-on management role that combines people leadership with practical oversight of compliance, quality assurance and continuous improvement. You will coordinate audits, reporting and assessment validation, support your team’s development and work with colleagues across AIMWA to keep priorities and delivery on track. With opportunities to improve our processes and develop our qualification services, this role will suit an organised, cooperative VET professional who enjoys supporting people, maintaining high standards and turning improvements into practical outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:

- Maintain AIMWA’s RTO registration and compliance with relevant regulatory standards and reporting requirements.

- Lead and support the Qualifications Team and external assessors to deliver quality services.

- Oversee qualification delivery and assessment plans, ensuring they remain current and aligned with training package requirements.

- Coordinate assessment validation and moderation to support consistent, quality assessment practices.

- Plan and conduct internal audits, address compliance gaps and implement improvements.

- Manage recognition of prior learning and credit transfer processes in line with regulatory requirements.

- Monitor assessor credentials, industry currency and ongoing professional development.

- Support a positive and inclusive participant experience, responding to feedback, complaints and appeals.

- Maintain effective policies, procedures and systems that support compliant and efficient RTO operations.

- Identify and implement opportunities to improve qualification services and support sustainable growth.

What You Will Bring:

- A Certificate IV or higher qualification in Training and Assessment, or equivalent.

- A sound understanding of the Standards for RTOs, the Australian Qualifications Framework and relevant regulatory and reporting requirements.

- Practical experience in assessment quality assurance, validation, internal audits and continuous improvement.

- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to support a team, coordinate external assessors and build effective working relationships.

- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and experience using aXcelerate to support efficient RTO operations.

Please contact Ali Taylor, Head of People and Culture at ••••@aimwa.com if you have any questions regarding this role.
