About the role

You'll be responsible for overseeing our morning freight operations, including the coordination of local pickup and delivery (PUD) drivers, warehouse staff and freight movements throughout Newcastle, the Central Coast and Hunter Valley. Working closely with our Newcastle Management Team, you'll help ensure the morning operation runs smoothly, freight is dispatched on time, and our people have the support they need to do their jobs well.

Key responsibilities

- Supervising and supporting our morning operations team, including PUD drivers and warehouse staff.

- Coordinating freight movements, vehicle loading and daily dispatch requirements.





- Ensuring freight is handled safely, accurately and efficiently.

- Managing daily priorities and resolving operational issues as they arise.

- Maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring compliance with WHS, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and relevant transport regulations.

- Working closely with other Tamex branches, customers and contractors.

- Identifying opportunities to improve our processes and the way we operate.

- Leading by example and helping out on the floor when required.

About you

- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in transport, logistics, warehousing or express freight.

- A current HRW Forklift Licence (Essential).

- A sound understanding of workplace health and safety, Chain of Responsibility and heavy vehicle compliance.

- The ability to organise workloads, manage priorities and work to tight deadlines.

- Good communication skills and the confidence to lead, coach and support others.

- Sound computer skills and experience using operational systems and reporting tools.

- A practical, solutions-focused approach when things don't go to plan.

- Reliable, approachable, accountable and willing to work alongside the team to achieve shared goals.
