Verity Lane Market is one of Canberra's most exciting hospitality and events destinations, bringing together a vibrant collection of bars, independent food vendors and unique function spaces in the heart of the city.

We're looking for enthusiastic, reliable and experienced Front of House & Events Staff to join our team as we head into our busiest trading period of the year.

This is a varied, hands-on hospitality role, with shifts across our bars, Market Hall and private events. We're looking for people who enjoy the energy of a busy bar just as much as delivering a polished experience at a corporate function or private celebration.

About the Role

As part of our Front of House team, you'll work across different areas of the precinct depending on operational and event requirements.

Bar & General Front of House

- Providing friendly, efficient and professional customer service across our bars and Market Hall.

- Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, spirits and cocktails.

- Processing orders and payments using POS systems.

- Maintaining clean, organised and well-presented bar and service areas.

- Restocking, opening and closing duties.

- Working efficiently during busy trading periods while maintaining high service standards.

Functions & Events

- Assisting with the setup and pack-down of corporate functions, weddings, cocktail parties and private events.

- Providing skilled food and beverage service, including tray service, roaming canapés, drinks service and table service.

- Operating event bars and assisting with beverage packages.

- Preparing function spaces, including furniture layouts, table settings and service stations.

- Responding to guest requests and working alongside the events team to ensure functions run smoothly.

- Maintaining a high standard of presentation, attention to detail and guest experience throughout events.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking team members who are adaptable,



proactive and comfortable working across different styles of hospitality service.

Ideally, you'll have:

- Previous experience in a busy bar, restaurant, function venue or events environment.

- A current ACT RSA certificate.

- Confidence in beverage service, with cocktail-making experience highly regarded.

- Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional approach.

- Excellent personal presentation and attention to detail.

- The ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.

- A willingness to assist wherever needed, whether that's behind the bar, serving guests or setting up an event.

- The ability to stay organised and work efficiently under pressure.

Experience in weddings, corporate functions, banquets or high-volume hospitality will be highly regarded.

Availability Requirements

Availability throughout November and December is essential, as this is our peak trading and events period.

Applicants must be available for a mix of weekday, evening and weekend shifts, with flexibility to work across both regular bar service and scheduled functions.

Shifts will vary depending on trading and event requirements, with opportunities for additional hours during the busy festive season.
