Working in IT Support and looking for an opportunity to move into networking and security?

We're recruiting a Network & Security Analyst to join an established infrastructure team in Brisbane CBD. This is a great opportunity for someone with an IT Support, Desktop Support or junior networking background who wants to build their technical skills and develop a career in network and security operations.

You don't need to be an experienced Network Engineer or Security Analyst. What's more important is that you have a good foundation in networking, enjoy solving problems, communicate well and are genuinely interested in learning.

You'll be working alongside experienced engineers who will help you develop your skills across networking, firewalls, web security and infrastructure supporting a large organisation.

What you'll be doing

- Responding to network and security support tickets, investigating issues and working through resolutions.
- Supporting day-to-day network operations, including firewall, proxy and connectivity requests.
- Learning to configure and maintain network security devices and services.
- Assisting with network changes, new deployments and implementation activities.
- Working with senior engineers to troubleshoot and escalate more complex technical issues.
- Creating and updating knowledge articles and procedures as you learn.
- Communicating with internal customers, keeping them informed and ensuring issues are followed through to resolution.
- Gaining exposure to different networking and security technologies across a large, multi-site environment.

About you

You might currently be working in Service Desk, Desktop Support,



IT Support or a junior infrastructure or networking role and looking for an opportunity to take the next step.

We're looking for someone who brings:

- Experience working in an IT support or similar technical environment.
- A good understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching.
- An interest in network security, firewalls, VPNs and how networks operate.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- A curious mindset, initiative and a willingness to learn.
- The ability to investigate problems, ask questions and follow through on issues.
- Good attention to detail and a willingness to document processes and solutions.

If you've completed networking studies or certifications such as CCNA or Network+, that's excellent, but they're not essential. You don't need to have worked directly with firewalls or security technologies before. The team is happy to develop someone who has the right foundation and attitude.
