Working closely with management, the HR Officer will provide practical HR support across recruitment, onboarding, employee documentation, compliance, employee relations and general HR administration.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate recruitment activities, including job advertisements, screening, interviews and reference checks
- Manage employee onboarding and ensure required employment and compliance documentation is completed
- Prepare employment contracts, variation letters and other HR correspondence
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
- Monitor employee compliance requirements, qualifications and mandatory training
- Support managers with performance management and employee relations matters
- Assist with disciplinary processes, investigations and formal HR documentation
- Support the interpretation and application of workplace policies, procedures and relevant employment conditions
- Assist with employee offboarding and exit processes
- Maintain HR registers, trackers and reporting
About you
- Previous experience in an HR Officer, HR Coordinator or similar position
- A qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline,
or relevant practical experience
- An understanding of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and Modern Awards
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Experience preparing HR documentation and maintaining employee records
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately
- Confidence working independently while knowing when matters require escalation
- A practical, professional and solutions-focused approach
