Surveying Assistant

Location: Hervey Bay, QLD

We are a well-established surveying, town planning and land development firm seeking an entry-level Surveying Assistant to join our young, friendly and professional team in Hervey Bay.

This position is ideal for a school leaver or junior candidate looking to start a long-term career in the surveying and land development industry, or someone with a strong interest in the field and a genuine desire to learn.

About the Role

You will work alongside experienced surveyors and professionals in both field and office environments, assisting with surveying tasks and supporting general office operations as required.

Key Responsibilities

- Assisting surveyors with field work

- Supporting office-based surveying and planning tasks

- Running office errands as required

- Learning and developing practical surveying and industry skills

About You

- No prior experience required — a strong willingness to learn is essential

- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office





- Interest in tertiary study (particularly Surveying) is highly regarded

- Experience with CAD software is beneficial but not essential

- Current driver’s licence & transport required

- White Card advantageous but not mandatory

Working Hours & Flexibility

- Standard hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday

- Flexible hours available, particularly to accommodate study commitments

- Flexibility with time off for exams, classes, or other study requirements

- Opportunity for overtime

- No weekend work required

Remuneration

- Remuneration will be in accordance with the Surveying Award
