Overview
Senior Accountant opportunity with well-regarded Financial Services organisation; this is a 6-month contract starting as soon as possible.

Reporting into Financial Control, this role combines core financial accounting and finance operations responsibilities with the chance to support a significant business initiative currently underway.

Working closely with senior finance stakeholders, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial information, supporting reporting processes, driving operational improvements, and assisting with financial analysis and information requests associated with strategic business projects.

Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the month-end, half-year and year-end close processes.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and corporate governance requirements.
Support oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, invoicing, payments and corporate card activities.
Source, validate and reconcile financial information from ERP and other systems.




Support the preparation of financial analysis, reporting packs and data submissions for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with responding to financial information requests associated with business projects and strategic initiatives.
Reconcile and validate data against previously reported financial information to ensure accuracy and consistency.

About You
CA/CPA qualified.
Robust understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and corporate accounting practices.
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate large datasets.
Proven experience preparing reconciliations, investigating variances and working with complex financial information.
Confident communicator able to engage effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Proactive, resilient and solutions-focused, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get into the detail.
