About us

King's Construction is a rapidly growing Hobart building company specialising in insurance repair and renovation work. We have a crew of 11 and a solid network of trusted subcontractors, and we're a valuable bunch to work with. We're after a Project Manager to take ownership of our jobs and help us keep growing.

The role

You'll own every active project from job acceptance through to handover, with up to around 20 jobs running at once. There's no office: you'll work from home and on the road, across sites in Southern Tasmania.

What you'll do

Project control

• Run the Monday toolbox meeting

• Schedule our employees and subcontractors, and coordinate trades

• Monitor progress, reschedule around delays and keep jobs moving

• Solve day-to-day problems and put out operational spot fires

Clients

• Be the main client contact once a job is accepted

• Keep clients updated, answer their questions and manage expectations

• Coordinate site access and scheduling

• Handle everyday complaints, and escalate major commercial issues to the owner

Materials





• Order materials and deliveries, and make sure they arrive before they're needed

Quality

• Carry out progressive QC inspections and check our crew leaders' QC

• Manage defects through to completion

• Do pre-handover inspections and hand jobs over to clients

What you'll need

• Experience in building project management or site supervision

• Strong computer and scheduling skills

• Great people skills and transparent, reliable communication

• A current driver's licence

• A white card

Hours

This is a salaried role. Our business hours are 7am–3pm, but it's a busy job and the hours will vary. We care about outcomes: the crew is kept busy, clients are kept in the loop, communication is on point and the work is done right.
