Our client is an established Melbourne law firm offering a broad range of legal services, with particular strength in civil litigation, dispute resolution and motor vehicle accident claims. Led by an experienced principal, the firm has built a client-focused reputation and offers a supportive, collaborative team setting with mentoring from experienced practitioners. This role sits within their growing litigation practice, based in Docklands, VIC.

About The Opportunityn

The primary purpose of this position is to take carriage of a high-volume caseload of litigated and pre-litigation matters, from client intake through to settlement or hearing.

This is a full time, 12-month fixed-term contract with an immediate start available.

n

Reporting directly to the Principal Lawyer, some of your responsibilities will include:

n

Managing a high-volume caseload from intake to settlement or judgment
n
Drafting pleadings, affidavits,



court books and briefs to counsel
n
Progressing matters through Magistrates' Court proceedings
n
Negotiating and settling matters with insurers and opposing solicitors
n
Attending mediations, arbitrations and hearings as instructing solicitor
n

About Youn

The successful candidate will have:

n

n
Experience in insurance, motor vehicle accident or civil litigation matters
n
Admission (or imminent admission) to the Supreme Court of Victoria
n
A proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload to deadline
n
Sound knowledge of Magistrates' Court procedure
n
Robust drafting skills and confident negotiation experience
n
