ABOUT THE COMPANY. n

This Local Council based in the Sydney's Lower North Shore is looking for a Development Compliance Officer to add to the team. You will play a crucial role in protecting the safety of the community, by ensuring compliance with building and environmental regulations.

ABOUT THE POSITION. n

This is a 6 month contract during which you will actively perform business functions related to investigating and taking appropriate enforcement actions concerning compliance matters.

DUTIES. n

n
Carry out and investigate complaints and inspections related to unauthorised land use, unsafe structures, unauthorised building work and overall non compliant with conditions of development consent
n
Oversee Council's mandatory Swimming Pool Inspection Program
n
Represent Council in court through preparation and providing evidence
n




Issue Penalty infringement Notices & Orders in accordance with relevant legislation, including Swimming Pool Act, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act & Protection of the Environment Act
n
Provide solid customer service towards customer needs
n

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE. nn
Tertiary Qualifications in Building Surveying or currently enrolled in relevant experience
n
Strong knowledge of Assessment Act Regulations, Swimming Pool Act, Protection of the Setting Act and associated Regulations
n
Current and valid Driver’s License
n
Council experience preferred but not essential
n
E1 Accredited Swimming Pool Certifier highly desirable
n
