The business is seeking a capable Civil Estimator to support the preparation of tenders for the civil scope of major wind-farm projects.Based in either Brisbane or Melbourne and reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will work closely with civil engineers, construction leaders, suppliers and subcontractors to develop accurate, practical and commercially competitive estimates.The roleYou will price the civil balance-of-plant works associated with large renewable-energy developments, including:Bulk and detailed earthworksDrainage and stormwater infrastructureAccess roads, pavements and hardstandsConcrete foundations and associated civil worksUnderground services and site infrastructureTemporary works and construction facilitiesYour responsibilities will include:Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes of work and tender documentationPreparing quantity take-offs and first-principles estimatesBuilding rates across labour, plant, materials and subcontracted worksPreparing and issuing subcontractor and supplier enquiriesAssessing quotations and identifying scope gaps or inconsistenciesDeveloping assumptions, qualifications, exclusions and clarificationsIdentifying tender risks, opportunities and alternative construction methodologiesContributing to bid strategy,



tender reviews and commercial discussionsPreparing accurate and well-structured tender submissionsSupporting post-tender clarifications and handover to the delivery teamAbout youYou may already be working as a Civil Estimator, or you may be a Civil or Project Engineer who has developed strong estimating and pre-contracts experience.To be considered, you will bring:Demonstrated experience estimating civil construction worksExperience across earthworks, drainage, roads, pavements or associated infrastructureThe ability to develop first-principles rates covering labour, plant, materials and productivityStrong drawing, specification and quantity take-off capabilityExperience engaging with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate pricingA practical understanding of civil construction methodology and project deliveryClear, confident written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to explain and defend your estimate, challenge unclear scope and engage effectively with technical and commercial stakeholdersA relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related disciplineExperience within wind farms, renewable energy, mining infrastructure, utilities or major civil projects will be highly regarded.Exposure to Expert Estimation, CostX, Candy, Benchmark or comparable estimating software would be advantageous.
