Emanate Technology is partnering with a federal government organisation seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a high-performing team responsible for supporting and evolving enterprise data and analytics platforms.
This is a broad, hands-on role where you'll work across data engineering, cloud technologies and analytics environments.
You'll help build and support critical data capabilities, improve platform performance, automate processes and contribute to the ongoing modernisation of a complex technology setting.

About the RoleDesign, build and support enterprise data platforms and analytics environmentsDevelop and maintain data pipelines, integrations and data servicesWork across SQL Server, Power BI, Python, R and SAS environmentsSupport and enhance Azure-based data services and cloud platformsDevelop automation and scripting solutions to improve platform performance and operational efficiencySupport Windows and Linux-based development and analytics environmentsWork with containerised and virtualised technologies including Docker and VMwareInvestigate incidents, perform root cause analysis and implement long-term improvementsWork closely with infrastructure, cyber security and business teams to deliver reliable outcomesProduce technical designs, support documentation and operational proceduresAbout YouStrong experience working as a Data Engineer in a complex enterprise environmentStrong SQL skills, including data modelling,



integration and database developmentExperience building and supporting data pipelines and analytics platformsExperience working with Microsoft Azure servicesStrong Python skills for scripting, automation or data engineeringExperience supporting technologies such as SQL Server, Power BI, SAS and RExperience with PowerShell, Bash, Git or similar toolingExposure to Docker, VMware, Linux or Windows Server environmentsStrong troubleshooting, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to work across both project delivery and operational support activitiesHighly RegardedExperience supporting research, modelling or statistical computing environmentsExperience with RStudio, Posit or specialist analytics platformsAzure, Data Engineering or DevOps certificationsExperience within Federal Government or large enterprise environmentsExposure to AI-enabled technologies such as Microsoft Copilot or GitHub CopilotWhat's on Offer?
