River Heads Family Practice – Hervey Bay QLD
You are being employed in the position of Medical Receptionist at River Heads Family Practice.
You will work on weekdays, with hours varying according to the needs of the practice from 8 to 12 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
Opening and closing the clinic
Greeting patients and taking phone calls in a courteous and professional manner
Scheduling appointments and attending to patients requests
Receiving and conveying messages in writing, verbally and electronically
Adhering to the protocols, norms, rules and regulations in order to maintain complete medical records
Scanning and filing documents
Preparing documents for mail out
Opening, stamping and distributing incoming mails
Exercising confidentiality with regards to patient care and all aspects of the Practice
Maintaining reception area in a tidy, clean and welcoming manner
Infection Control Responsibilities
Abide by Medical Centre Policies and Practices as wide-ranging from time to time
Ensure Infection Control standards meet professional and ethical requirements
Participate in Surveillance Activities and Hand Hygiene Audits




Quarantine Suspected Cases/patients on arrival at the Practice
Safety, quality and culture
Taking reasonable care of own's Health and Safety and for the health and safety of anyone else who may be affected by your acts or omissions at the Workplace
Participating in the Practice's risk management and quality improvement processes
Reporting incidents and near misses in line with Practice policy
Other duties
Attending training sessions in-house and external courses when required
Undertaking other duties as required from time to time as directed by the Practice Manager and clinical staff
