Risk & Compliance Specialist About the Opportunity n
We are seeking an experienced
Risk & Compliance Specialist
to support the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of risk management and compliance frameworks.
n
The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating organisational risks while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities n

Identify, assess, and monitor operational, regulatory, and compliance risks across business functions.
n

Develop, implement, and maintain risk management frameworks, policies, procedures, and controls.
n
n
Conduct risk assessments, compliance reviews, and control effectiveness testing.
n
n
Monitor changes in legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
n
n
Maintain risk registers, compliance documentation, and reporting frameworks.
n
n
Investigate compliance incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
n
n
Prepare risk and compliance reports, dashboards, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
n
n
Collaborate with internal teams to implement risk mitigation strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
n
n
Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance assessments.
n
n
Promote a strong risk-aware culture through stakeholder engagement, guidance, and training.

Skills and Experience Essential n
n
n
Demonstrated experience in risk management, regulatory compliance, governance, or a related discipline.
n
n
Strong understanding of risk management principles, compliance frameworks, and internal controls.
n
n
Experience conducting risk assessments, compliance monitoring, and control testing.
n
n
Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business processes.
n
n
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting capabilities.
n
n
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills.
n
n
Experience preparing risk reports, maintaining risk registers, and developing compliance documentation.
n
n
Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with minimal supervision.
n
Highly Desirable n
n
n
Relevant qualifications in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Law, or a related field.
n
n
Familiarity with ISO *****, AS/NZS risk management standards, or other recognised governance frameworks.
n
n
Experience working in highly regulated environments, including government, financial services, or large corporate organisations.

Knowledge of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) systems and reporting tools.
n
n
Professional certifications in risk management, compliance, auditing, or governance.
