Key responsibilities n

Performing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
n
n
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and air-system faults
n
n
Inspecting vehicles and trailers for defects and safety issues
n
n
Completing repairs in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory requirements
n
n
Conducting roadworthiness and compliance inspections within your level of authorisation
n
n
Accurately completing service records, job cards and maintenance documentation
n
n
Responding to breakdowns and handling after hours calls on a roster
n
n
Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop
n
n
Working closely with workshop, fleet and operational personnel to minimise vehicle downtime
n
n
n
n
nAbout you n
n
n
n
A recognised trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic
n
n
Experience servicing and repairing heavy trucks and trailers
n
n
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
n
n




A sound understanding of heavy-vehicle safety and maintenance requirements
n
n
Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
n
n
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
n
Your own basic trade tools
n
n
A heavy rigid or heavy combination licence, trailer maintenance experience and relevant inspection qualifications will be highly regarded
n
