Job Description
You've spent years developing your ERP expertise. But your greatest value isn't simply knowing how to configure a system.
n
It's understanding how a business operates, identifying what needs to change and translating complex requirements into solutions that work.
n
Our client is looking for exactly that capability.
n
They're undertaking a significant ERP transformation and want an experienced Functional Consultant who can bring sound judgement, established consulting skills and a fresh perspective.
n
Whether your background is in SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or another enterprise ERP platform, your experience could be highly relevant.
The Opportunity n
You'll join an organisation making key decisions about how its future ERP environment will operate.
n
Working directly with stakeholders across operational and corporate functions, you'll develop a detailed understanding of existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement and help shape practical solutions.
n
This isn't about transferring outdated processes into a new system.
n
You'll be encouraged to question assumptions, assess standard ERP functionality against business requirements and recommend approaches that balance operational needs with long-term sustainability.
n
Importantly, you'll be part of the internal team responsible for delivering the transformation, giving you the opportunity to see your recommendations through to implementation.
What You'll Be Doing n
Working alongside business stakeholders, Solution Architects, Developers and delivery teams, you'll contribute across the ERP implementation lifecycle.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Leading discovery workshops, analysing business processes and defining functional requirements
n
Conducting fit-gap analysis and recommending improvements to existing workflows
n
Translating complex requirements into functional specifications, configuration decisions and solution designs
n
Working with technical specialists to assess integrations, validate proposed solutions and resolve functional challenges
n
Supporting system testing, UAT, defect resolution, deployment and operational readiness
n
Providing functional guidance as new capabilities are introduced and the platform evolves
n
n
You'll need to be comfortable taking ownership of functional outcomes, explaining your recommendations and helping stakeholders make informed decisions.
The Organisation n
Our client is an established Australian organisation investing significantly in its technology and operating model.
n
With strong executive backing, the business is implementing a modern ERP platform and strengthening its internal technology capability.
n
You'll join an experienced team committed to delivering a successful transformation and supporting the organisation's evolving technology needs.
About You n
We're looking for an experienced ERP Functional Consultant who has played a meaningful role in enterprise ERP implementations, enhancements or transformation programs.
n
Your experience could be in SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or another established ERP platform.
n
Microsoft Dynamics 365 is the organisation's chosen platform, but previous experience with it is not essential.
Your ability to apply strong functional consulting principles in a new environment is more important.
n
Ideally, you'll bring:
n
n
Strong business process analysis, workshop facilitation and requirements definition skills
n
Experience conducting fit-gap analysis and preparing functional specifications
n
Practical understanding of ERP configuration, integration considerations, testing and deployment
n
Confidence challenging requirements, evaluating options and recommending appropriate solutions
n
The ability to work independently while building effective relationships with business and technical stakeholders
n
n
Experience across distribution, warehousing, supply chain or finance would be particularly relevant.
n
You'll also bring curiosity, initiative and a commitment to continuous learning. You're someone who asks thoughtful questions, follows issues through to resolution and takes pride in the quality of your work.
Why Consider This Opportunity? n
You'll join at a stage where your functional expertise can influence important design decisions, rather than inheriting a solution that's already been defined.
n
Your experience with other ERP platforms will be valued, and you'll have the opportunity to develop your Microsoft Dynamics 365 capability.
n
As part of the internal team, you'll also see how your solutions perform in practice, refine them over time and help shape future improvements.
Working Arrangements n
This is a permanent position offering $150,000–$170,000 + superannuation, based near Blacktown in Western Sydney.
n
The role is five days onsite, reflecting the organisation's collaborative culture and the importance of working closely with stakeholders throughout the transformation.
