A leading global firm is hiring a senior transactional lawyer, 5 to 8 PQE, for a recent role in its Melbourne legal transformation practice. You'll work directly with major corporate and banking clients on complex transactions, deciding how each matter is structured and delivered.
The role
The team has moved from supporting the firm's practice groups to advising clients directly, often on matters that don't have established precedents yet. You'll decide how each deal should run, including where technology helps and where it needs a lawyer's judgement. The practice is built on the transactional experience its lawyers bring, and you'll draw on yours every day. Matters vary from client to client, and you'll often design the approach while the deal is under way.

Personal interest in legal technology and AI, and how it will change how law firms handle major transactions. Training is provided, so prior experience is welcome but not essential
