An exciting opportunity is available for experienced
Media & Communications Specialists
to join a major NSW Government agency supporting high-profile operational and public-facing initiatives.
Working within fast-paced media and communications teams, you will play a key role in managing media relations, developing strategic communications, supporting announcements and events, and providing advice on complex and sensitive issues.
Key Responsibilities
Develop media releases, statements, briefing notes, speeches and communication materials
Manage media enquiries and provide timely responses
Build robust relationships with journalists, media outlets and key stakeholders
Support ministerial and executive communications activities
Coordinate media events, announcements and public engagements
Identify emerging issues and develop proactive communication strategies
Contribute to crisis communications and reputation management activities
Create engaging media, digital and visual content




Work collaboratively across communications, operations and stakeholder teams
About You
Demonstrated experience in media, journalism, public relations or communications
Strong media relations and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience managing sensitive, high-profile or fast-moving issues
Excellent writing, editing and content development capabilities
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong political awareness and understanding of the media landscape
Newsroom or government communications experience highly regarded
Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience
