Service Manager/Trades Role

Our client is a growing multi-trade services contractor delivering maintenance, service and project works across Sydney. They support a broad commercial client base across property, facilities management, education, industrial and retail environments, with multiple trade services delivered across the wider business. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Electrical Service Manager to join their electrical division, taking ownership of its day-to-day service operations and playing an important role in its continued growth.
Your new role
This is an office-based leadership position where you will manage a team of electricians and apprentices, taking responsibility for scheduling, workflow, client communication and the delivery of electrical service and minor works. A major focus of the position will be keeping jobs moving, providing clients with quick and clear communication and ensuring works are followed through from the initial service request through to completion and invoicing.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing the daily scheduling and allocation of electricians and apprentices.
- Coordinating reactive call-outs, planned maintenance and minor electrical work.
- Keeping technicians productive and ensuring work is completed efficiently.
- Managing urgent call-outs, changing priorities and client requirements.
- Building strong relationships with existing commercial clients.
- Reviewing technician reports, job notes, photos and recommendations.
- Preparing smaller quotations and variations and following up on approvals.
- Coordinating materials, labour and contractors where required.
- Identifying and following up on additional work generated from the site.
- Monitoring open jobs, labour, materials and job profitability.
- Ensuring completed jobs are closed out correctly and ready for invoicing.




- Providing technical guidance and support to electricians and apprentices.
- Working alongside the wider trades, estimating, projects and management teams to maximise opportunities across the business.

What you'll need to succeed

- Previous experience in commercial electrical service, maintenance or operations.
- Experience managing or coordinating electricians, apprentices or field-based technicians.
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical maintenance and fault-finding.
- NSW Electrical Licence would be highly regarded.
- Strong scheduling and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple live jobs.
- Good commercial understanding of labour, materials, quotations and job profitability.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A proactive approach with solid attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience with Simpro or a similar job management system would be advantageous.
- Current Australian driving licence and full Australian working rights.
