Clare

The Employer: Our client is a highly respected, family-owned agricultural enterprise steeped in tradition, based in the Mid North of South Australia. Operating across a picturesque 2,500-hectare holding, the business balances agricultural excellence with strategic asset utilisation. A significant portion of the dryland farming operation is leased and sharefarmed in close partnership with third parties, alongside an expanding Superfine wool breeding program. As an employer, they pride themselves on creating a supportive, respectful, and family-oriented environment where staff contributions are genuinely valued, and long-term career growth is encouraged.
The Role As a Working Farm Manager, you will play a pivotal, hands-on, operational leadership role within the business. Reporting directly to the family board, you will oversee the daily management of North Bungaree Station, serving as the key point of contact for external stakeholders, share farmers, lessees, and residential tenants. You will take full operational ownership of the property's livestock operations, specifically overseeing the care, health, and development of the Superfine Merino sheep flock of 600 breeding ewes. The enterprise plans to increase the flock to 2,000 ewes over time. In addition to livestock husbandry and pasture management, you will be responsible for property maintenance, including the construction and repair of fences, basic machinery repairs and routine maintenance, infrastructure oversight, and ensuring seamless collaboration across all shared land use activities.

To facilitate transparent correspondence with the board, proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is paramount. Working dogs are essential.
The Offer A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate, commensurate with experience. The position includes a well-maintained four-bedroom family residence featuring attractive, established gardens, ideally suited to families, and a reliable work ute for property operations. To support your daily administrative and livestock management duties, the employer provides a work phone, laptop/computer, high-speed internet connection, as well as dog food and vet bills for your working team.
Situated at North Bungaree Station in Euromina, SA, the property offers a peaceful lifestyle in a welcoming region. Positioned just 25 km from Clare, you will enjoy immediate access to excellent local primary and secondary schools, comprehensive healthcare facilities, vibrant community sports clubs, and the world-renowned Clare Valley wine region. Additionally, the estate sits at the gateway to the breathtaking Flinders Ranges, providing unmatched weekend recreation, camping, and scenic touring opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts.

The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, patient, and hard-working agricultural manager who combines a high level of integrity with exceptional interpersonal skills.

- Honesty & Integrity: Unwavering ethical standards and trustworthiness when representing the family enterprise, communicating with board members, and managing third-party agreements.
- Communication Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities required to effectively liaise with family board members, share farmers, lessees, and property tenants.
- Community-Minded Personality: A welcoming, community-focused approach with a desire to integrate into vibrant regional towns and foster strong local relationships.
- Livestock Expertise & Vision: Proven practical experience in sheep management, animal husbandry, and Superfine wool production, accompanied by the drive to scale the flock to 2,000 ewes.
- Patience & Adaptability: A calm, deliberate temperament suited to managing multifaceted stakeholder relationships and steering long-term property improvements.
