Eden Ritchie Recruitment are seeking an experienced AO6 Senior Advisor – Illegal Camping & Declarations to support land management, legislative compliance and State-controlled road declaration activities within a Queensland Government environment.

This position will play a key role in managing illegal camping, unauthorised land use and complex road corridor matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will coordinate compliance activities, provide specialist advice and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective land management outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage illegal camping and unauthorised access, use and activities on State-controlled roads and government-managed land.
- Coordinate compliance activities, including site inspections, enforcement notices, stakeholder engagement, site clean-ups and towing arrangements.
- Assess legislative requirements and develop appropriate compliance action plans for individual circumstances.
- Undertake Human Rights Compatibility Assessments and coordinate cultural heritage assessments where required.
- Manage State-controlled road declaration processes and provide advice on complex land and corridor management matters.
- Interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies and procedures to support sound decision-making.
- Liaise with police, outreach services, internal teams and other stakeholders to coordinate compliance activities.
- Develop, implement and monitor programs of work to support broader regional operational objectives.
- Prepare reports,



briefing notes, correspondence and other documentation.
- Maintain accurate records and registers, ensuring compliance activities are completed within required timeframes.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and exercise sound judgement.
- Experience applying legislation, policies and procedures in a regulatory, compliance or operational environment.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to manage sensitive and complex matters.
- Strong written communication skills, with experience preparing reports, briefs and formal correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple activities, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within established timeframes.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work independently and respond effectively to unexpected situations.
- Solid accountability, professionalism and attention to detail.

Highly Relevant Experience:
Candidates with experience in government compliance, regulatory enforcement, land management, road corridor management or similar operational environments are particularly encouraged to apply.
