ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you ready to take control of one of the biggest machines in the industry? Our team at Mainfreight Wharf Melbourne (Dandenong South Depot) is looking for a Reach Stacker Operator / Depot Operations team member to keep freight moving and drive efficiency in our yard.

This isn’t just any role – it’s a chance to operate a 70+ tonne reach stacker that can lift up to 46 tonnes and stack containers over 14 metres high. You’ll also be behind the wheel of our onsite Tug, keeping freight flowing on and off our Warehousing teams docks.

You’ll be responsible for closing out our daily operations and ensuring the night ends and next day begins on the right foot,



with clear communication, solid direction, and a smooth transition from the night shift operations team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

- Operating a Reach Stacker – moving and stacking containers with precision

- Running our onsite Tug – shifting freight for the Warehousing team

- Daily yard checks – keeping track of container movements and placements

- Managing yard flow – ensuring efficiency and organization

- Driving operational improvements – always looking for safer, smarter, faster ways to work

- Empty container inspections and cleaning – maintaining quality and high quality service

What You Need to Succeed:

- A passion for heavy machinery and efficient depot operations

- Previous experience on a reach stacker and tug is preferred but not required – we’ll provide training for the right person

- A strong focus on safety, teamwork, and efficiency

- Someone willing to get their hands dirty, step outside of their comfort zone and give it a crack!
