About the Role

The Residential Property Officer plays a key role in managing the Department of Health's statewide residential accommodation portfolio, ensuring high-quality accommodation services are provided for staff, contractors and visitors across Tasmania.

Working both independently and collaboratively, you will manage tenancy arrangements, coordinate property maintenance and cleaning services, oversee furnishings and utilities, support contract management, and build strong relationships with tenants, contractors and stakeholders. This is a varied and rewarding role that directly supports the recruitment, retention and wellbeing of Tasmania's healthcare workforce.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage a diverse portfolio of residential accommodation properties and tenancy arrangements.
- Coordinate property maintenance, furnishings, cleaning and utility services.
- Liaise with tenants, contractors, service providers and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records, contracts and accommodation data.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and up-to-date accommodation management practices.
- Deliver responsive, customer-focused accommodation services across Tasmania.

Skills and Experience





We are seeking a motivated professional who:

- Has experience in property, tenancy or accommodation management.
- Demonstrates strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Can effectively manage competing priorities and work autonomously.
- Builds positive relationships and provides high-quality customer service.
- Is proficient in, or able to quickly learn, systems and software applications including Microsoft Office and accommodation management systems.
- Brings a proactive, solutions-focused approach and works collaboratively within a team environment.

A current driver's licence is desirable.

The Statewide Residential Accommodation Services team forms part of the Department of Health's Property Services team within Infrastructure and Risk Services.

The team manages a diverse portfolio of residential accommodation across Tasmania that supports workforce attraction, retention and service delivery in metropolitan, regional and rural locations.

The North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) is a 160-bed facility and the principal referral centre for Tasmania's North West community. Salary

$85,196 to $97,915 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
