About the role

We are seeking a reliable, motivated and experienced Cook who takes pride in preparing quality café-style meals and thrives in a busy kitchen environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals from our established menu, maintaining high food safety standards and ensuring consistency in food quality, presentation and service. You will work closely with our kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive experience for our customers.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare, cook and present a variety of breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes in accordance with our café menu and recipes.

- Ensure all meals are prepared consistently, maintaining high standards of taste, quality, portion control and presentation.

- Check ingredients for freshness, quality and suitability before use.

- Operate and monitor kitchen equipment, including grills, ovens and other cooking appliances.

- Prepare ingredients and complete daily food preparation to ensure efficient service during busy periods.

- Accommodate customer dietary requirements and preferences, including vegetarian, gluten-free and other dietary requests where appropriate.

- Maintain appropriate food storage, stock rotation and temperature controls in accordance with food safety requirements.

- Assist with menu planning, seasonal specials and the introduction of new dishes.

- Monitor ingredient usage, minimise food wastage and assist with stock control and ordering.

- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety standards.

About you

- Previous experience working as a Cook, preferably in a busy café, breakfast or brunch environment.

- Solid knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations.





- Ability to prepare and present meals consistently to a high standard.

- Experience working efficiently under pressure during busy breakfast and lunch services.

- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and secure food handling practices.

- Good organisational skills, time management and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.

- Understanding of portion control, stock management and minimising food wastage.

- Flexibility to work weekends and early morning shifts as required.

- A positive attitude, reliability and a genuine passion for food and hospitality.
