An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Impact and Evaluation Lead to join our Children in the North team. This is your opportunity to make data matter and drive change that lasts. Through the power of evidence, collaboration and community-led insight, you will influence decisions that create better outcomes for children, young people and families for generations to come.
At the City of Playford, we are working alongside communities, government, education and service partners to create lasting change through the Children in the North initiative. As our Impact and Evaluation Lead, you will play a critical role in understanding what works, why it works, and how we can create even greater impact.
This is more than an evaluation role. It's an opportunity to influence decision-making, strengthen collaboration, and help shape a future where every child and family has the opportunity to thrive.
Why this role?
This role offers the opportunity to influence meaningful change by turning data, evidence and community insight into actions that improve outcomes for children, young people and families.
Working across government, non-government and community sectors, you will help build a shared understanding of what is making a difference, where opportunities exist, and how collective efforts can achieve greater impact.
What you will get to do
- Design and embed a shared outcomes and measurement framework aligned to community priorities.
- Lead the collection, analysis and interpretation of data to provide meaningful insights and evidence of impact.
- Develop and implement evaluation approaches that support innovation, learning and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with community members, partners and stakeholders to ensure lived experience informs evaluation and decision-making.
- Facilitate learning and reflection sessions that turn evidence into action.
- Prepare clear and compelling reports for governance groups, community committees, partners and funders.
- Build capability across the alliance by improving data literacy, evaluation practice and outcomes-focused thinking.
- Identify trends, opportunities and systemic barriers, helping to influence policy and service system improvements.
- Act as a trusted advisor on impact measurement, evaluation and systems change
What you will bring
You are a strategic and analytical thinker with a passion for turning evidence into action. You enjoy working with complex information, engaging diverse stakeholders and helping organisations learn, adapt and improve.
You will also bring:
- Qualifications in evaluation, social science, public policy, data analytics, public health, community development or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Experience in evaluation, impact measurement, applied research or outcomes-based evaluation in complex social or community settings.
- Strong understanding of collective impact, place-based approaches and systems change.
- Experience developing outcomes frameworks, measurement approaches and data strategies.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, including data collection, analysis and reporting.
- The ability to translate complex information into practical insights that drive decision-making.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation and relationship-building skills.
- An understanding of culturally responsive,
trauma-informed and community-led approaches to evaluation.
What’s in it for you?
At the City of Playford, you will be part of an organisation committed to creating meaningful community outcomes and supporting its people to do their best work.
In return, you will enjoy:
- The opportunity to influence long-term community outcomes and systems-level change.
- Meaningful work where your insights directly inform strategy, investment and decision-making.
- The chance to collaborate with leaders across community, government, education and research sectors.
- A supportive and innovative team culture that values learning, curiosity and continuous improvement.
